Arj Barker

Episode: 582

Show Summary

Arj Barker of Flight of the Concords came on next. After discussing a magazine list of what women find most attractive in men, Arj complained that he was too busy writing poems in his diary and nursing stray kittens to health to know whether he could consider himself to be sensitive or not. Even though the studio is indoors, Barker sat in a hat and sunglasses and stated that he didn't like the sun. The disguise could be a possible explanation as to why he tends not to get recognized on the streets, but, more likely, it is just a reflection of his detached nature, a personality trait that Danny pointed out in a classically strange Comical moment. The interview ended with Barker describing his curiosity about the afterlife and discussing alien conspiracy theories with Chris Iacono. Maybe he wears the sunglasses to protect his eyes from seeing all that truth.

Ex-Intern Dina was scheduled to come in to celebrate her seventh month of pregnancy, but could not afford the train because her hot-dog cart had been rained out the day before. C'mon, Dina, why not just use the money you've saved for your baby's college education?
Closing out the show was a retelling of how Matty Goldberg perfectly disgusted every person in Intern Genevieve's apartment during a webisode shoot last Monday. The giant tooth himself called in to apologize to Genevieve for his transgressions and to dangle his prescriptions in front of Myka's drug-addicted face. It turns out that a commercial deal with Converse entitles a person to drink a pint of whisky and behave as though they are a major talent. The Comical forgives you, Matty, as long as you promise to give Myka more Tramadol.
And that was the show. Make sure to tune in Monday with guest Dan Dratch. He will be on to answer questions about the TV show Monk (he wrote for it) and to say other amusing things. Also on the show, Aviv Cohn, some poor kid trying to make it in the music biz.
